A minor collision of a car with a vegetable cart escalated into a deadly lynching in Jahazpur, Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The incident happened when Sitaram Kirar, a 25-year-old man, was driving a car which collided with a cart. This followed a violent clash involving a mob of 40 people that claimed Kirar's life.
As per reports, Kirar pleaded for mercy, but he was dragged from his car and assaulted near a mosque. His friend, who was there with him, tried to save him but could not do anything against the mob. He took him to the hospital after cutting the car's wiring, but it was too late. The vegetable owner has been identified as Sharif Mohammed. The incident drew widespread protests in the area, leading to shop closures in Jahazpur.
The tension and anger among the locals were further escalated when the police detained Kirar's friend for over an hour. After the intervention of SP Dharmendra Singh Yadav and local MLA Gopichand Meena, the police filed a murder case and booked 16 individuals while also listing 20 more as unidentified. The vegetable vendor, Sharif Mohammed, who led the mob, has been arrested.
