Karnataka CM row between Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar takes new turn

Amid swirling speculation about a potential leadership change in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has characterised the ongoing discussions about the Chief Minister's post as a "secret deal" involving a select few within the Congress party. He said that he is deliberately avoiding about the leadership change in the public discourse to protect the party's image. Speaking to reporters in his home constituency of Kanakapura, Shivakumar, who also leads the Karnataka Congress, stated, "I don't want to discuss the CM change issue publicly," emphasising that it is a "secret deal" involving "four and five people" in the party.

Breaking News Live Updates, November 26, 2025: Tamil Nadu BJP Vice President RN Jayaprakash attacks Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, says, "DMK has always wanted to weaken India... Centralisation is not the issue. Coordination is. Every successful country in the world has a strong national framework. Only parties with deeply anti-national instincts see the national coalition as a threat." 

He added, "In India, only one party sees it that way, and it is DMK. It is an anti-national party, according to us... This is the oldest trick in divisive politics. Manufacture victimhood, pretend that the rest of India is the enemy, then abuse federalism to justify hostility towards national institutions."
