Demonstrations took place in Ernakulam and Thrissur, with participants decrying the arrest as a violation of constitutional rights and alleging it was part of a larger anti-Christian campaign.
The Kerala Latin Catholic Association of Kochi (KLCA) staged a sit-in protest, describing the incident as an "invasion of the constitution" and part of an ongoing conspiracy against Christians. Simultaneously, political party delegations from Kerala travelled to Chhattisgarh to express solidarity with the jailed nuns.
