Delhi Acid Attack Case: Accused's wife alleges rape by victim's father

A Delhi acid attack case has seen a significant new development, as the wife of the main accused has lodged a police complaint against the victims father, alleging rape and blackmail. This comes after an acid attack on a 20-year-old Delhi University student near Lakshmibai College, where the victim sustained burn injuries.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognizance of the acid attack. The NCW chairperson has written to the Delhi Police Commissioner, directing immediate action within five days, including the arrest of the absconding accused – identified as Jitender, Ishan, and Arman – and provision of medical, compensation, and psychological aid to the victim under the Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme.

Police sources indicate that the main accuseds wife claimed she worked for the victims father, who allegedly raped and later blackmailed her. An FIR has been registered at Balswa Dairy police station.

Authorities confirm that both the acid attack case and the new rape allegations will be investigated separately and on their own merit. The acid attack victim is currently in a stable condition.
