Elderly Passenger Dies in Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express Fire in Andhra Pradesh

A 70-year-old man, Chandrasekhar Sundar, died after two coaches of the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express caught fire at Yelamchili, Andhra Pradesh. Flames erupted in the B1 AC coach, rapidly spreading and causing panic. The loco pilot stopped the train, and a probe has been launched into the incident.

A tragic incident occurred in Andhra Pradesh when two compartments of the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express caught fire at Yelamchili, approximately 66 km from Visakhapatnam. The fire resulted in the death of 70-year-old Chandrasekhar Sundar.

The incident was reported around 12:45 a.m., with flames first erupting in the B1 AC coach before spreading quickly to other compartments. There were 82 passengers in one affected coach and 76 in another.

The loco pilot promptly stopped the train after detecting the fire, and passengers evacuated amidst panic and thick smoke. Railway authorities immediately detached the affected coaches. A probe has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
