Pranjal Khewalkar, son-in-law of former Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse, was arrested in Pune during a pre-dawn drug raid. The raid, conducted in the Kharadi area, targeted a high-profile rave party at a studio flat near the Pune-Ahmednagar Highway.
Police seized cocaine, marijuana, hookah pots, and alcohol. Six others, including two women, were also detained. Following his arrest, Khewalkar underwent a medical examination at Sassoon General Hospital.
A subsequent search of his Hadapsar bungalow resulted in the seizure of a laptop, three pen drives, and a hard disk, which are currently undergoing forensic analysis. Khewalkar was taken to the Pune Police Commissioner’s office for questioning and is expected to appear in court. The incident has sparked considerable political interest in Maharashtra.
