The high-profile Paras Hospital shooting in Patna, Bihar, which claimed the life of gangster Chandan Mishra, continues to unfold with significant developments in Kolkata. Four individuals, including the primary suspect Taushif, also known as Badshah, were presented before the Alipore court in Kolkata.

The court granted a two-day transit remand to Bihar Police, allowing them to transfer the accused back to Patna for further investigation and prosecution.

The July 17th shooting took place in broad daylight within the Intensive Care Unit of Paras Hospital. Chandan Mishra, a parolee with over 24 serious criminal charges including numerous murders, was the victim. Eyewitnesses reported a group of unidentified gunmen storming the hospital and opening fire, resulting in Mishras immediate death.

A swift and coordinated operation between Bihar Police, Kolkata Police, and the Special Task Force (STF) led to the arrest of Taushif and three accomplices, including Nishu Khan, from a guest house in Kolkatas Anandapur area.

Upon being apprehended and transported to the court, Khan vehemently denied any involvement in the conspiracy. He stated his reason for being in Kolkata was for spinal surgery necessitated by injuries sustained during a 2023 land dispute. Khan claimed complete unawareness of the murder plot until after the shooting had occurred.

However, investigators assert that the murder was meticulously planned at Nishu Khans residence in Patna. The arrest of Khan alongside his medical staff and girlfriend during an STF raid further strengthens the investigations focus on premeditation.
