External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Dhaka on 31 December to represent India at the funeral of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Her passing at the age of 80, following a prolonged illness, was announced by her party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on 30 December. The BNP stated on X that Begum Khaleda Zia died at 6:00 a.m., shortly after the Fajr prayer.
