The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has officially adopted a state government order granting its female employees one day of paid menstrual leave per month, effective 1 January 2026. This policy marks a significant advancement towards empowering women and fostering workplace inclusivity within the states transport sector.

This progressive decision is designed to improve health awareness, uphold dignity, and enhance employee welfare for women staff members. KSRTC joins a growing number of public institutions in Karnataka that have implemented women-centric workplace policies, reflecting a forward-thinking administrative approach.

The initiative follows earlier directives from the Government of Karnataka aimed at boosting the mental well-being and work comfort of women government employees through similar monthly menstrual leave provisions.

Transport corporations across the state have formally incorporated this policy into their operational frameworks, recognising it as a positive milestone in strengthening gender-sensitive policies and promoting inclusive work environments in public sector services.
