In a tragic incident from Madhya Pradesh, a 24-year-old man allegedly died by suicide following a family dispute, while his wife ended her life by jumping into a well after discovering his body. The couple's three-month-old son has been left orphaned as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

New Delhi: A 24-year-old man from Dudera village in Madhya Pradesh allegedly died by suicide at his home following a family dispute. Shocked by the incident, his wife also ended her life after discovering his body, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Chintaman Kushwaha, the younger son of Jalam Kushwaha. Police said Chintaman died by hanging himself at his residence. Following this, his wife Meera Kushwaha (22), upon seeing his body, was unable to cope with the shock and jumped into a well located around 30 metres from the house, resulting in her death.

The couple is survived by their three-month-old son. Local residents said Meera had returned to her in-laws’ house from her parental home around 10 days ago. Upon receiving information, the Lidhaura police reached the spot. The police removed Chintaman’s body from the noose, while locals helped retrieve Meera’s body from the well using a cot.

After completing legal formalities, both bodies were shifted to the Jatara Community Health Centre for post-mortem examination. According to police, Chintaman ran a street food stall. The exact reason for the dispute and the precise timeline of the incident are still under investigation.
