Escort facility for school children

In areas where wild animals pose a greater threat, the Chief Minister ordered that school children should be escorted safely to and from school by the Forest Department and District Administration. Removal of Pauri DFO

In view of increasing incidents in Pauri district, the Chief Minister directed the immediate removal of the DFO of Pauri. He stressed accountability and said officers must act promptly to safeguard lives.

Support for families

To ensure families do not suffer financially after losing a breadwinner in wildlife attacks, the Chief Minister instructed the Forest Department to prepare a policy within two weeks. This policy will provide livelihood support and compensation to affected families.

Use of Technology and Vigilance

Dhami highlighted the importance of using new technology to reduce human-wildlife conflict. He directed officials to install cameras in sensitive areas for continuous monitoring and ensure wild animals do not enter populated regions. Forest personnel must remain vigilant and maintain strong communication with villagers.

Clearing bushes and awareness

The Chief Minister also ordered a campaign to clear wild bushes around villages, which often provide cover for wild animals. He stressed that children and women should be made aware of the presence of wildlife nearby, so they can remain alert and safe.

Measures aim to reduce fear among villagers and strengthen safety

The Chief Minister said saving people’s lives is the government’s first responsibility. With rising leopard and other wildlife attacks in Uttarakhand, these measures aim to reduce fear among villagers and strengthen safety.
