Sankranti travel: South Central Railway to run 16 additional trains between Telangana, Andhra Pradesh
Travel between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh increases significantly during Sankranti and the aim is to manage expected surge during festival season.
Hyderabad: The South Central Railway has announced that it will be operating 16 additional special trains for travel for Sankranti between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These trains will run from Secunderabad-Srikakulam Road, Srikakulam Rd-Secunderabad, Vikarabad-Srikakulam Rd and will be available between January 9 and 18, SCR CPRO A Sridhar said.
The 16 trains will be in addition to 57 special trains to various destinations between Kakinada-Vikarabad, Kakinada-Secunderabad, Secunderabad-Kakinada, Kakinada-Lingampalli/Vikarabad, Vikarabad/Lingampalli-Kakinada, also getween January 9-18.
More trains between AP & Telangana:
Trains will also be run from Vikarabad-Narsapur on January 9, 11 and Narsapur-Vikarabad on January 10, Narsapur-Secunderabad on January 12, Secunderabad-Narsapur on January 9, 13 and multiple other services between Narsapur-Vikarabad between January 9-13.
Other trains include Narsapur-Lingampalli from January 17 to 19 along with other Vikarabad-Narsapur train services on January 18-20. Special trains will also operate from Secunderabad to Anakapalle.
Two trains, one from Hyderabad-Ajmer on December 23 and Ajmer-Hyderabad on December 27 will be run for 814th Annual Urs, a press release said.
