The Final 18 Hours: Tracing Dr Umars Movements Before the Red Fort Blast
News9’s ground investigation has meticulously reconstructed the final 18 hours of Dr Umar, identified as the mastermind behind the Red Fort blast. The critical timeline reveals his activities leading up to the explosion, starting with a rented hideout and a crucial cash withdrawal.
Investigation agencies, including the Haryana STF, discovered Dr Umar had rented a house in Hidayat Colony, Nuh, about two weeks before the blast. This location, linked to a technician from Al-Falah University, is believed to have been a base for assembling explosives or a mere hideout. Despite neighbours claims of not seeing him, CCTV footage corroborates his presence.
Subsequently, Dr Umar was tracked to an HDFC ATM in Firozpur Jhirka in the early hours of November 10th. Unable to withdraw cash, he allegedly coerced a security guard to help him acquire ₹50,000, promising ₹5,000. Following this, he navigated various routes, including the Alipur-Tighra toll plaza and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, reaching Badarpur by 8:15 AM. His journey culminated in parking his i20 car at the Red Fort around 3:15 PM, where he remained for three hours before the blast.
