Bengaluru Airport witnessed a swift security intervention on the midnight of 16th November when the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) successfully foiled a knife attack outside T1 Arrivals. A man identified as Suhail Ahmed, armed with a long metal knife, charged towards two taxi drivers, posing an immediate threat to public safety.
ASI Sunil Kumar and his dedicated CISF team acted instantly, demonstrating exemplary vigilance and quick response. They promptly overpowered Suhail Ahmed, seizing the weapon and effectively neutralising the threat. This decisive action ensured that no passengers or airport staff sustained any harm during the incident.
Following the successful intervention, Suhail Ahmed and any alleged accomplices were handed over to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) Police for further investigation. Preliminary inquiries suggest the attack was motivated by a personal dispute, potentially in retaliation for an earlier disagreement. The CISFs rapid response underscored their commitment to maintaining security at critical infrastructure.
