Mumbai: The trailer of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar was released today. During the event, Aditya spoke of the team's hard work and lauded them. He claimed no one raised complaints despite working for long hours.
Stressing the amount of work put into the director stated, "We have worked 16–18 hours continuously for one-and-a-half years. Yet, not once did anyone complain about the workload. Everybody has given their 100 per cent, including Ranveer."
He also revealed that Sara Arjun, the actress playing opposite to Ranveer, was selected after numerous auditions. "Mukesh (casting director) had done almost 1,300 auditions, and Sara was the one who got selected. She was brilliant in those auditions. Sara is going to be a rockstar," said Aditya.
Further, Ranveer also lauded Aditya during the event. He stated that the director was “unflinching and uncompromising”. Speaking of the project, he called it an “unprecedented work of cinema". “It’s raw, gritty and unapologetically Indian, an incredible and complex story with world-class technical execution. I believe it is India’s moment to shine on the global stage, and we aim to be at the heart of that moment while staying true to our roots," said the actor.
R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal also play key roles in the movie.
The four-minute-eight-second trailer introduced each of the characters. Some netizens were unhappy because of Ranveer's brief appearance in the trailer. They took to social media to express their disappointment.
One wrote, "It's shot really well, but the trailer lacked a high point or that wow factor. Also, why so less of Ranveer?? It's like he is one of the characters, not the main one." Another stated, "This needed more of Ranveer Singh, but still looks very good. Teaser was far better!"
