Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga is one of the greatest pace bowlers in the history of ODI cricket. He won many matches for his country with his Yorkers and unique bowling action. Malinga made his ODI debut in 2004 and became the main bowler of the team. He picked up 338 wickets in 226 ODI matches at an economy of 5.35.

He is one of the best death bowlers and is known for his unplayable Yorkers. Malinga played a key role in Sri Lanka's victory in the 2014 T20 World Cup. He also captained his country in the ODIs and T20Is.

The star Sri Lankan bowler has played four ODI World Cups in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019. He remains one of the highest wicket-takers in the history of the tournament. Malinga made a massive impact in the 2007 ODI World Cup, taking 18 wickets in eight matches. 

His best performance came against South Africa, where he became the first bowler to take four wickets in four deliveries. He removed Shaun Pollock, Andrew Hall, Jacques Kallis and Ntini in consecutive balls and helped Sri Lanka reach the final but they lost against Australia.

Malinga was one of the most dangerous bowlers in the 2011 ODI World Cup. He took 13 wickets at an economy of 5.54 in 13 matches. His best performance came against Kenya, where he picked up six wickets and became the first bowler to take two hat-tricks in the ODI World Cups.

He was the leader of Sri Lanka's bowling attack in the 2015 ODI World Cup and picked up 12 wickets at an economy of 5.54 in seven matches. His best performance came against England, where he took three wickets and conceded just 38 runs. However, the Sri Lankan team was knocked out of the tournament in the quarterfinals.  

Malinga played his last ODI World Cup in 2019 and was one of the best bowlers in the tournament. He took 13 wickets at an economy of 6.04 in seven matches. His best performance came against England, where he took 4 wickets and led Sri Lanka to a shocking upset over the hosts. His team failed to qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament, but Malinga's impact remained significant.

Overall, he has played 29 ODI World Cup matches and picked up 56 wickets at an economy of 5.51. He  is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament and finished his ODI World Cup career as one of the successful bowlers.
