Batting first, Ireland scored 181 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Harry Tector played an unbeaten knock of 69 runs from 45 balls with the help of one boundary and five maximums. Humphreys bowled impressively in the test series and also gave his team a breakthrough in the first over by removing Tanzid Hasan Tamim for 2 runs, before taking three more wickets in one over during his second spell to script Ireland's victory.

Mark Adair picked up two wickets to further damage Bangladesh's hope. He removed Parvez Hossain Emon and Liton Das, both for just 1 run in consecutive overs. The hosts tried to make a comeback in the match through Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali, who batted patiently in order to rebuild the innings.

But fast bowler Barry McCarthy, who picked up three wickets, dismissed Jaker with a short ball for 20 runs, ending the 48-run partnership. Humphreys then took three wickets in one over, leaving Bangladesh reeling at 74/8 in the 13th over. Hridoy continued to fight for the hosts and completed his fifth T20I fifty off just 34 balls. He stitched two partnerships with Shoriful and Nasum Ahmed to delay the result.

Earlier, Tector played a stunning knock for Ireland and helped his team to post a challenging target for Bangladesh after the openers gave the side a good start. Captain Paul Stirling and Tim Tector added 40 runs from 26 balls, before the skipper was removed by Tanzim Hasan Sakib for 21 runs.

Harry and Tim continued the aggressive approach until Tim Tector was dismissed by Rishad Hossain for 32 runs. After anchoring the innings, Harry Tector flourished in the final over and took the total past 180, which the Bangla Tigers failed to chase. The second T20I will be played on the same venue in Chattogram on November 29.
