New Delhi: Team India will take on Oman in their last group stage match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, on Friday, September 19. The Men in Blue have already qualified for the Super 4 stage of the tournament.

India continued their winning run in the 2025 Asia Cup and defeated Pakistan by seven wickets at the Dubai International Stadium. The Men in Blue dominated the match from ball one, after Pakistan opted to bat.

They were rattled early after Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris in the first two overs, respectively. Sahibzada Farhan's 40 and Shaheen Afridi's blistering unbeaten 33 off 16 balls helped the team reach 127-9. Kuldeep Yadav turned out to be a star performer with the ball, picking three wickets for 18 runs.

India's chase was pretty smooth and simple with Abhishek Sharma setting the tone early with a 13-ball 31, and Suryakumar Yadav also batted well, scoring an unbeaten 47 off 37 balls. The win helped the Men in Blue to secure a place in the Super 4 stage, and they will face arch-rivals Pakistan again on September 21.

Bumrah likely to be rested

The Men in Blue are likely to make a few changes in the playing XI, with Jasprit Bumrah most likely to be rested for the match against Oman. He will be replaced by Arshdeep Singh or Harshit Rana, who will get their first chance to play in the Asia Cup.

If Suryakumar and Co. qualify for the final, they will end up playing four matches in seven days. The Men in Blue will want their pace spearhead fresh for the busy schedule ahead. Meanwhile, Arshdeep needs just 1 wicket to become the first Indian to take 100 wickets in men's T20Is.

Samson to be promoted

Sanju Samson is yet to bat in the tournament, and he might get an opportunity to bat in the top 3, ahead of skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. Hardik Pandya is yet another player who has not batted for India yet in the Asia Cup, and he also might get a go. The middle-order batters have not spent enough time on the pitch so far, and India might find it a little difficult to give Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma a game.

India probable XI vs Oman: Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh.
