New Delhi: Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up his maiden ODI hundred in the third match against South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, December 6. This was his ninth overall century in his international career.
Jaiswal completed his ton in 111 balls and helped the Men in Blue to chase down the 271-run target in their decisive third ODI against South Africa. The 23-year-old has already hit seven centuries in Test cricket and one in T20Is. This was only his fourth appearance in the 50-over format.
He is now the sixth Indian to have smashed centuries in all formats of men’s cricket and the 32nd overall. The first Indian player to achieve this feat was Suresh Raina, followed by Rohit Sharma, India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and current full-time ODI captain Shubman Gill.

A maiden ton from Yashasvi Jaiswal and crucial half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli helped India beat South Africa by 9 wickets in the third ODI. The hosts sealed the three-match series by 2-1 in Vizag. Chasing 271, India reached the finishing line with 10.1 overs and nine wickets to spare.
Rohit Sharma scored 75 runs off 73 balls with seven boundaries and three maximums, while Kohli finished the match with a boundary, scoring an unbeaten 65 runs off 45 balls with six fours and three maximums. Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 116 runs off 121 balls with 12 fours and two sixes.
Earlier, Quinton de Kock smashed a hundred, while Temba Bavuma scored 48 runs. Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets each as India bowled out South Africa for 270 in 47.5 overs, and chased down the target comfortably to clinch the series 2-1.
