Jordan Neill

Jordan Neill is another of those players who, though not born in Ireland, has embraced the country as his cricketing home and gone on to represent it with pride. An all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace, he has quickly risen through the ranks to become one of the most exciting young prospects in Irish cricket.

Born and raised in Cape Town, Neill impressed from an early age with his leadership qualities and consistent run scoring. On a tour of the UK in 2022, he underlined his batting pedigree with a series of commanding centuries. His Irish roots soon opened the door to new opportunities, where he continued to refine his skills and showcase his all-around potential.

Initially a batter who bowled off spin, Neill later switched to seam bowling after coaches recognised his natural rhythm and ability with pace. The change added another dimension to his game and accelerated his development as a genuine dual threat. His progress gathered momentum in 2024 when he represented Ireland at the Under-19 World Cup before making his List A and T20 debuts later that year for Munster Reds.

The following year, 2025, marked a major milestone as Neill earned his senior Ireland call-up for the ODI series against West Indies. His debut was cut short by a shoulder injury, which forced him to walk off and ended his first outing prematurely. He returned to competitive cricket in August and was later selected for the home series against England.
