Hailing from Pretoria, Rubin Hermann grew up with a deep passion for the game and an early understanding of the discipline it demanded. A left-hander with a calm head and fluent stroke play, Hermann’s rise through the domestic ranks has been built on consistency rather than flashes of brilliance.

He began his professional journey with Northerns, marking his List A debut in the 2016-17 CSA Provincial One Day Challenge with a memorable century that immediately signalled his potential. Over the following seasons, he became a key figure for Northerns across formats. Franchise cricket provided the next big stage for Hermann. Representing the Paarl Royals in the SA20 League, he had a standout 2024-25 season, scoring over 300 runs in nine matches and proving his mettle against quality attacks.

That form soon translated into international recognition when he was named in South Africa’s T20I squad for the 2025 tri-series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand. He made an immediate impact with scores of 45 and 63 in two of his first three games. Although he initially missed out on selection for the ODI leg of the tour to Pakistan, an injury to Dewald Brevis opened the door for Hermann, who was drafted in as a replacement. Following his breakout performances in the SA20, the Paarl Royals showed their faith in him by securing his services once again as their wildcard pick for the 2025-26 season.
