At the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, BKC, Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh suffered a humbling loss after the hosts ran through a fragile batting line-up twice in as many days to register their second victory of the season.

Himachal, bowled out for 187 in the first innings, produced an even poorer show in the second, bundling out for only 139, in which only Pukhraj Mann (65 off 109 balls, 9x4s) provided some resistance.

Arora's half-century in vain as Mulani, Musheer power Mumbai to commanding win

If not for Vaibhav Arora (51 off 61 balls, 7x4s, 4x6s) and Nikhil Gangta (64 not out, 134 balls, 8x4s), HP, resuming Day 3 at precarious 94 for 7 in the first innings, would have struggled to cross the 150-run mark in the first essay.

Arora played a counter-attacking knock, which included some powerful sixes down the ground and added 77 runs for the ninth wicket with Gangta, but it didn't prevent HP from conceding a huge 259-run lead.

Asked to follow on, Himachal were off to a poor start and never really recovered from there on, with Shams Mulani emerging as the chief destructor with figures of 15.1-4-37-5.

Musheer Khan (112, 1/9, 2/23) was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

Saharan leads from the front

Elsewhere in Chandigarh, 21-year-old Saharan led from the front with a match-winning century as Punjab chased down the target of 227 on Day 3 to collect six points.

Saharan, who captained India to a runners-up finish in the U19 World Cup in 2024, scored 117 not out off 194 balls with the help of 15 fours.

Making his First-Class debut this season, Saharan showed no sign of nerves during his sensational century. He combined with Jashanpreet Singh (57 not out) to add an unbroken 139-run stand for the third-wicket to take Punjab to 227 for 2 in 66.4 overs at the Sector 16 stadium.

Punjab bounced back brilliantly after posting a paltry first innings total of 142 in reply to Chandigarh's 173.

Resuming from an overnight score of 168 for 7, Chandigarh were bowled out for 195, leaving Punjab a target of 227 to win the fixture.

In other fixtures, Gujarat beat Services by six wickets on the penultimate day of a Ranji Trophy Group C match in Nadiad, while in Rohtak, Uttarakhand comprehensively defeated hosts Haryana by an innings and 28 runs to bag full six points.
