New Delhi: Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up a hat-trick for Andhra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT 2025) Super League clash against Madhya Pradesh at DY Patil Academy in Pune on Friday, December 12.

He removed Harsh Gawli, Harpreet Bhatia and Rajat Patidar in the last three deliveries of the third over. Nitish castled Gawli for 5 runs before dismissing Harpreet Bhatia, caught behind for a duck. The all-rounder completed his hat-trick when Patidar chopped one onto his stumps. His triple strike reduced Madhya Pradesh to 22/3 in its 113-run chase.

Before his hat-trick, Nitish had taken only 8 wickets in 37 T20 games, with a best bowling figure of 2/17. But after the early setbacks, Rishabh Chauhan and Rahul Batham stitched an unbeaten 73-run partnership for the fifth wicket to help Madhya Pradesh chase down the target in 17.3 overs.

Earlier, Andhra bowled out for 112 runs in the 19.1 overs after being asked to bat first. Srikar Bharat managed to score 39 runs off 31 balls, smashing four boundaries and two maximums, and Nitish also scored 25 runs.

But other batters struggled to bat as Shivam Shukla picked up four wickets, and Tripuresh Singh took three wickets, while Rahul Batham also picked up two wickets.

Rajasthan lose 6 wickets against Haryana

Rajasthan got off to a poor start after being asked to bat first by Haryana. Anshul Kamboj removed Kunal Singh Rathore for 4 runs in the first over, while Deepak Hooda got run out for a golden duck. Ishant Bhardwaj dismissed Karan Lamba for 1 run and picked up his second wicket of the match, removing skipper Manav Suthar for 15 runs. Samant Jakhar removed Shubham Garhwal for 33 runs, while Amit Rana dismissed Mukul Choudhary for 12 runs, leaving Rajasthan reeling at 97/6 in 15 overs.

Mumbai to face Hyderabad

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and premier pacer Mohammed Siraj will be up against each other as Mumbai will take on Hyderabad in the Super League clash on Friday, December 12. Jaiswal has recently notched up his maiden ODI hundred against South Africa, and will look to continue his white-ball form in the crucial clash, while Siraj was rested for the ongoing white-ball leg of the series against the Proteas.
