New Delhi: Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz will open their Women’s Premier League 2026 campaign in the first match of the double-header, while Delhi Capitals will take on Mumbai Indians in the second clash on Saturday, January 10. Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated the Mumbai Indians by four wickets in the opening match of the tournament.
Meg Lanning will lead the UP Warriorz in the fourth edition of the tournament. She has previously captained Delhi Capitals to the finals of the first three seasons. On the other hand, Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner will lead the Gujarat Giants in the tournament, and she will rely on experienced Beth Mooney to lend some solidity to the batting lineup.
In the second match, Harmanpreet and Co. will look to secure two points against the Delhi Capitals, after losing the first match. Jemimah Rodrigues will lead the Capitals in the WPL 2026, replacing Meg Lanning.
