For supporters inside the stadium, it was a crossover moment to remember. The FIFA World Cup winner with Germany in 2014 and a Bayern Munich stalwart for over a decade, stood side by side with Yuvraj, who famously played a pivotal role in India's 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup triumphs. Both men are celebrated for their match-winning instincts and charisma appeared to enjoy the brief but memorable encounter.

The videos and photos of the exchange were instantly picked up online, sparking excitement among fans who rarely get to see such cross-sport connections. While the Whitecaps delivered a spirited performance on the pitch against St. Louis, it was the off-field interaction between Muller and Yuvraj that ended up stealing headlines.

Yuvraj off the field

The former Indian cricketer has been a busy figure off the field in recent weeks and just before his appearance at the MLS fixture, Yuvraj attended the '50 Days To Go" event for the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 in India. The gathering featured skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and batter Jemimah Rodrigues, with Yuvraj sharing his insights on handling World Cup pressure.

“Play the situation, not the expectation,” Yuvraj told the players, urging them to remain calm under pressure. He explained how crowds often look for boundaries or wickets, but success at a World Cup comes down to adapting to match scenarios and keeping clarity of thought.

The former Indian player also stressed the value of self-belief, reminding the squad that every time they step onto the field, they should carry the mindset of winning the match for the country. His words carried weight, coming from someone who has delivered on the sport's grandest stage and lifted the trophy back in 2011.
