New Delhi: The Women's Premier League (WPL) is set to have its first mega auction on Thursday, November 27. A total of 277 players (194 Indian and 83 overseas) will go under the hammer.
Many big names are in the auction pool, with recent World Cup champions Deepti Sharma, Kranti Gaud, and Shree Charani, as well as overseas cricketers like Laura Wolvaardt and Sophie Ecclestone.
The five franchises, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz are looking to fill 73 slots, including 50 Indians and 23 overseas. The minimum squad size is 15, and the maximum limit is 18. The marquee set features Deepti, Renuka Singh, Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, Ecclestone, Alyssa Healy, Meg Lanning and Wolvaardt.
