New Delhi: Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has given fans a rare look into the routine that keeps him one of football's most dominant forces. In a new YouTube video titled "Day in the Life of a Pro Footballer", the Manchester City striker Haaland opened up about his discipline, recovery habits and lifestyle choices that help him stay fit, sharp and injury-free in such a high demanding league and tight schedule.
For the Norwegian footballer maintaining peak fitness is as crucial as scoring goals. The 25-year-old striker revealed that his daily life revolves around structured recovery, proper nutrition and consistency. His Manchester home includes a personal gym, an ice bath in the backyard and a sauna - all essential tools in his recovery process. “People see the goals and celebrations, but not the hours that go into being ready for that,” Haaland said in the video. “This is a bit of who I am away from the pitch.”
The Manchester City forward has long been admired for his physical dominance and it’s no surprise he takes recovery seriously. Haaland explained that his day often starts with physiotherapy sessions from City’s medical staff before heading to training. He also spends time in an infrared therapy room which improves blood flow and muscle relaxation - a practice that’s helped him stay available for nearly every game since joining City.
Haaland described the importance of discipline in his daily schedule. He often combines ice baths and sauna sessions four to five times a week, calling them essential for both the body and mind. “It’s good for the mind as you’re achieving something you don’t want to do,” he said, explaining how mental strength plays as big a role in recovery as physical training.
While many players rely heavily on external help, Haaland prides himself on being self-sufficient. Having lived independently since he was 16 and he revealed that lifestyle discipline comes naturally to him. His approach is simple to rest well, eat clean and train with intensity. “One little drop makes a hole in the rock,” Haaland’s personal therapist Mario Pafundi said in the video, describing the striker’s gradual, consistent effort to maintain top form.
Since joining Manchester City his records speaks for itself as he has scored 139 goals in 157 appearances, two Premier League Golden Boots and no signs of slowing down. His blend of professionalism and focus has made him not just a top scorer but one of the most durable players in modern football.
Through his new YouTube channel, Haaland is showing fans a side of elite football few get to see - not just the goals but the discipline, detail and mindset that make those moments possible.
