Left-affiliated trade unions in Jadavpur, Kolkata, participated in a nationwide Bharat Bandh, staging a foot march to protest against what they describe as anti-worker policies.

The protests, held across India, targeted both the BJP and Trinamool Congress governments. The unions central grievance is that recent economic reforms are eroding workers rights, dismantling labour protections, and promoting privatisation at the expense of job security.
