Watch: Japanese man evacuates home with pets following tsunami alert

New Delhi: A Japanese content creator named Yuu filmed himself evacuating his apartment following a tsunami alert. In the video, the content creator informed netizens that he lived just 10 minutes from the ocean. He wrote, "I always have to be mindful of tsunamis after an earthquake." The creator was making breakfast when he first got the signal to evacuate the apartment. Immediately, the man put his cat in a bag and his pet bird in its carrier. He then packed his filming gear and immediately left his home and went to an evacuation point, a local school. However, animals were not allowed inside the school. In the caption, the content creator stated, "This was my first time experiencing something like this, so I hadn’t made any preparations in advance. My priority was getting my pets—my cat and my bird—out safely."

The video garnered the attention of many users. One wrote, "So glad you are safe, and please keep us posted when the all-clear is given." Another person commented, "I hope you stay safe! Please take care of yourself!"
