New York: In a dramatic manner a thief escaped with items valued at around Rs 9 crore from a high-value boutique from New York. The police is on the lookout for suspect who allegedly carried out the burglary at a luxury SoHo boutique.

"We got an alarm alert and looked at the cameras and there were two guys in here, masked up, in construction outfits with headlamps. They knew exactly what they were going for,” Tommy Macari, partner and brand ambassador of 4G Seller was quoted as saying by ABC.

Police reached 91 seconds after incident

According to the report, thieves took custom clothing, belts, bags, and jewellery along with them. They packed the items in a garbage bags and dropped them from the balcony to an accomplice. The entire incident lasted for just four and a half minutes. While the police reached 91 seconds later, officials at the boutique reached the spot four minutes late after the incident.

"He has been working super hard for years, trying to build a business here and he does not deserve this,” said Guy Story, a neighbour, after the incident. Sharing details, the police said that many of the stolen items were worth thousands of dollars. "People wear these clothes to be seen. If someone appears in a one-of-one piece, we will figure it out,” Macari added further.

Officials of the boutique pointed out that thieves might have known what to take but did might not have realised how instantly recognisable the pieces were.
