Sort of bloodbath? US raid in Venezuela to capture President Maduro killed 100 people

New Delhi: Recently, the US pulled off a daring mission by capturing and extracting Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro from his own country, triggering a raging row all over the world. Now, Venezuela's interior minister ‍, Diosdado Cabello, has said that 100 people died in the US mission.

Earlier, the Venezuelan Army posted a list of 23 names of its dead. According to the officials of the country's government, most of ‌Maduro's ‍security contingent was killed "in ‍cold blood" in the US mission. As per Cuba, it killed 32 members of its military and intelligence services in Venezuela.

Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said that many of the dead Cubans were possibly members of Maduro's security detail. The US bombed military targets and then seized Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. During the US raid, Maduro suffered an injury to his leg while his wife, detained alongside him, suffered a head injury. Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodriguez has declared a week of mourning for members of the military who lost their lives in the raid.

'Venezuela to give 30 to 50 million barrels to US'

Trump has announced that the "Interim Authorities" of Venezuela would be giving between 30 million and 50 million barrels of high-quality, sanctioned oil to his country. Trump would control the proceeds from the sale of the oil to ensure they benefit both nations, the US and Venezuela.

Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social and wrote, "This Oil will be sold at its market price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!"
