Bangkok: In a harrowing incident in Thailand, a 17-year-old attacked a teacher over 2 marks in a mid-term exam. According to Bangkok Post, the shocking incident took place in a private school in central province of Uthai Thani. A video of the incident went viral on social media. Many could not believe what was happening.
As per reports, the teenager lost his calm after losing two marks in a mid-term exam. The assault happened after the student approached the teacher to ask about the two marks he lost. He pointed out that the answers were right. However, the teacher countered his arugument by stating that she needed to see the process through which he got the answer. The teacher also asked the student to check with other teachers about the marking criteria. Subsequently, the student consulted other teachers and returned to ask his instructor to give him the lost two marks. However, she refused. The teacher's answer left the student enranged. He kicked a desk and left the classroom.
A few minutes later, the angry student returned. This time, he was angrier and asked the teacher to apologise to him. The instructor responded that she wouldn't. Consequently, the student completely lost his calm and began to punch the teacher violantly in front of the whole class. Twently classmates witnessed the disturbing incident. CCTV camers captured the entire incidnet.
The Bangkok Poat reported that the teacher was legft with major injuries including inflamed ribs, bruised eyes, swelling, etc. She has also planned to file a police complaint against the student. Meanwhile, the student has been suspended. He has also submitted a request to quit the educational institution.
The video of the incident scarred many people online. They spoke of how students no longer showed respect to their teachers. One commented, "Very sad to see this video. Teachers should be respected. This generation wants everything very easily. Now the boy will learn everything the hard way in his life. On every step he will have to fight for everything. Starting will be a court case."
