New Delhi: An Indian woman residing in Canada took to Instagram to compare the price of groceries in Canada with India. Kanupriya, a content creator, showcased the stark difference in prices. “Ever felt broke after buying just bread and milk? Welcome to Canada,” said the woman in the caption. Further, she went on to state the price of vegetables and compare it with their costs in India. She pointed out that a cauliflower that would cost Rs 20– Rs 25 in India was priced at Rs 237 in Canada. Further, she said that a pound of garlic was Rs 395 and a small tub of yoghurt would cost Rs 200 in Canada.
A pack of bread costs Rs 230 and milk at Rs 396. The video garnered numerous reactions. While some were shocked, others reminded her of the value of the Canadian dollar in comparison to India's rupee. They added that it was not fair to compare the price gap in both countries. "Earning in $ , comparing in rupees. Reverse migration is the current trend. Doors are open,” said one netizen.
