New Delhi: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which headed the Mahagathbandhan alongside the Congress, delivered a weak performance in the Bihar Assembly elections, winning only 25 of the 143 seats it contested under the alliance’s seat-sharing formula. However, the party found a small consolation in its overall vote share. Despite the poor seat tally, the RJD emerged as the single party with the highest vote share in this election, according to results declared on Friday, November 14. Vote share shifts The party secured 23 per cent of all votes cast, a marginal dip from its 23.11 per cent share in the previous assembly polls. In 2020, the RJD had fielded 144 candidates.
