'Ambalamukkile Visheshangal' - Comforting, heart-wrenching journey into the heart of village life

Palakkad: Few days into theatres, ‘Ambalamukkile Visheshangal’, the latest venture by director Jairam Kailas starring Gokul Suresh continues to create waves among the youth. In the bustling landscape of Malayalam cinema, where high-concept thrillers, violence and intense dramas often dominate discourse, Ambalamukkile Visheshangal arrives as a gentle, unassuming counterpoint. Produced by Chand Creations, this film is less about breaking new ground and more about revisiting a familiar, comforting space—the nostalgic, rumor-filled lanes of a typical Kerala village. Its success lies not in shock value, but in its steadfast commitment to being a simple, emotional, and often humorous slice-of-life tale. For audiences seeking a respite from complexity, this film offers a predictable yet pleasant two-hour getaway. “The movie, even though not in a huge banner, has managed to hot the right chord. There are ample moments in the movie where the thread of the movie is connected very well...

Mentioning that active campaigns are being held stating that the financial crisis in the state is due to lavish expenses of the state government and not due to the centre 's anti-Kerala stand, the CM said that the Comptroller and Auditor General report published on December 2025 says otherwise. "Why are you disapproving the state because of your hatred to the LDF government? What wrong did the state do," the CM said. Terming the centre...

Kerala: Following crisis due to price drop, coconut growers pins hope on export, industrial demand

Ernakulam: As the gloomy phase for coconut farmers continue for the past 5 months, international factors, especially the huge demand for coconut in European nations could help the prices of coconut spike in the coming days in Kerala. Prices fell by Rs 85 by kilogram dashing all hopes. We are hoping that the central government could increase the MSP of copra to Rs 1000 per quintal”, said Jayan Krishnan, a coconut farmer and trader in Palakkad. The retail price of coconut, which touched Rs 90 a kilogram in September, has gradually declined to Rs 55-60 in the first week of January. Following a recent field visit, the Coconut Development Board (CDB) concluded that it expects production to rise sharply in the coming months. Growers fear that a spike in output will lead to a...
