New Delhi: In today's time, women are moving forward in every field, but many times financial scarcity becomes a hindrance in the way of their dreams. Especially for women belonging to rural and backward classes, it is not easy to start their own work. To make such women self-reliant and to make their dreams fly, the Central government has started the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. This scheme not only provides training and financial assistance to women, but also provides them the opportunity to stand on their feet and live life with dignity.
Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a scheme of the central government, which has been started to make poor and backward class women self-reliant. The objective of this scheme is to encourage women for self-employment and to provide financial assistance to them. Under this, women are trained in groups (self-help groups) and allowance is also received during training.
After completion of training, women are given a micro-credit i.e. small loan at a low interest rate, so that they can start their own work or business. This scheme is specially designed for women of rural areas, women belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, so that they can overcome social barriers and become financially strong.
Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a micro finance scheme for women, in which loans are given at low interest and interest exemption is also available. Under this scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs 1,40,000 is given to women, so that they can start their own small business. The loan taken has to be repaid in about 3.5 years, which is in quarterly instalments. Apart from this, if the beneficiaries repay the loan taken under this scheme on time, they can also avail the benefits of other loan schemes of NSFDC (NSFDC) in the future. This scheme helps women become financially empowered.
Women who are between 18 and 55 years of age can benefit from the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. This scheme is for low-income women, especially those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC), whose annual family income is less than 3 lakh rupees. Apart from this, women who want to start their own business or engage in any income earning activity are also eligible for this scheme. This scheme provides an opportunity for women to become self-reliant.
