Kolkata: On the first day of 2026, Sensex 30 closed at 85,188.60, down 32.00 points or 0.038%, while Nifty 50 closed at 26,146.55, up 16.95 points or 0.065%. The market started strong on Jan 1 but ended flat. During the day, 21 out of 30 Sensex stocks rose while 38 out of 50 Nifty stocks advanced. The Nifty is still above 26100. The next level the investors will watch out for is 26,200. Today, the following stocks will be in focus of the investors due to a variety of corporate developments, investments, approvals and deals being finalised. The stocks in focus includes Vodafone Idea, RailTel, Aurobindo Pharma and several others. Let's find out which stocks might see significant movement today Jan 2.

RailTel Corporation of India: RailTel has received a Letter of Acceptance from the Assam Health Infrastructure Development and Management Society which is linked to procurement, implementation, and maintenance of a Hospital Management Information System. The estimated value of this project is approximately Rs 56.71 crore.

Aurobindo Pharma: Aurobindo Pharma's subsidiary, Auro Pharma, has approved the acquisition of Khandelwal Laboratories' non-oncology prescription formulation business. It will be done on a going concern basis under a Business Transfer Agreement and is valued at approximately Rs 325 crore.

Olectra Greentech: December 31, 2025 was declared as the date for commercial operation of its greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Hyderabad. This unit has an annual production capacity of 2,500 electric buses per shift. This is the capacity for phase one capacity, which is half the proposed annual capacity of 5,000 buses per shift.

Vodafone Idea: Vodafone Idea has received an order from the office of the Additional Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax, Ahmedabad South which has demanded a an amount of Rs 637.9 crore that consists of penalty, tax, and interest on charges of underpayment of tax and claiming excess input tax credit. The company has said that it will take legal action against it.

KV Toys India: KV Toys India has witnessed investment interest from foreign investors. Royal Alpha Opportunity Fund has purchased 42,000 equity shares of the company at approximately Rs 332.57 per share, while Vorton Opportunities Fund has acquired 33,600 shares at a price of approximately Rs 327.03 per share.

Time Technoplast: Time Technoplast has received crucial approvals from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation and TUV Rheinland India. These approvals are for the manufacturing and supply of 2-liter capacity high-pressure Type 3 fully wrapped fiber-reinforced composite cylinders, which will be used in compressed gas applications.

REC: The company's executive director, Narendra Kumar Maurya, retired from his position on January 1 due to superannuation.
