New Delhi: A Swiggy delivery executive was severely injured after being hit by a Scorpio driver in Gurugram’s Manesar on Monday. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras and mobile phones of other delivery executives present at the scene. The driver later allegedly admitted that he had crashed into the rider’s motorcycle.
The footage shows five to six delivery executives waiting at a roadside pickup point in Sector 93 when a black Scorpio suddenly rammed into a parked motorcycle belonging to the victim, identified as Tinku, and fled the scene. Moments later, the SUV returned and turned towards the group, attempting to hit them. The vehicle then ran over the same motorcycle before fleeing again.
Enraged by the incident, Tinku shouted at the driver, asking, “What are you doing, brother?” Angered by the confrontation, the driver—identified as Naveen Yadav—turned the vehicle around, accelerated, and ran over Tinku, who was standing near the eatery pickup point, before fleeing the spot. The other delivery executives narrowly escaped injury.
Another video shows the Scorpio heading towards Tinku, reversing, and then moving forward again to run him over before fleeing the scene.
Tinku sustained severe injuries to his head, chest, and legs. When police reached the spot, they rushed him to the Civil Hospital in Gurugram. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was later shifted by his family to a hospital in Rewari.
Gurugram Police traced the Scorpio with the help of CCTV footage. Preliminary investigations revealed that the SUV is registered in the name of Dr Naveen Yadav.
