Cyberabad Police Annual Report 2025 shows spike in child pornography cases

Cyberabad Police recorded an alarming spike in child pornography cases in its annual cybercrime data report for 2025. The report showed that child pornography cases surged from 4 in 2024 to 53 in 2025, a jump of 1200%, which is the largest increase amongst all cyber offences.
Other cybercrimes included part time job fraud, trading fraud, smishing fraud, advertisement fraud, impersonation fraud, unauthorised transactions, sextortion fraud, phishing fraud among others. Phishing cases also rose from 15 in 2024 to 65 in 2025, a surge of 330 percent.
In top contributions in crime trends for the year, cybercrime topped the chart with 7,636 reported cases. About 5,527 cases of property offences were reported while 4,608 road accident cases were reported. 1,488 cases of criminal trespass were recorded and 1,314 cases of dowry harassment have been recorded, as per the data.
The total number of cognizable offence cases have dipped slightly in 2025 to 37,243 as compared to 37,689 in 2024.
Property offences rose up from 12 percent to 15 percent while crimes against women saw an increase from 8 to 9 percent while road accidents went up from 10 to 12 percent. Other IPC cases declined from 22 to 17 percent.
Rachakonda Police: Crimes against up by four percent
In Rachakonda police commissionerate, crimes against women such as molestation, kidnapping and POCSO cases have increased by four percent.
About 479 kidnapping cases, 809 molestation cases, and 516 POCSO cases were registered and the number of cases have gone up from 1,186 in 2024 to 1,804 in 2025.
