Cyberabad Traffic Police issue guidelines for NY celebrations on December 31

Cyberabad CP Avinash Mohanty said that all construction and debris (C&D) transportation related vehicles are not permitted in Cyberabad limits inside the Outer Ring Road (ORR) between 10:30 pm to 2 am on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Traffic Police have issued certain guidelines and restrictions in the view of New Year celebrations on December 31.

Drunk driving checks will be conducted in the Cyberabad area from 8 PM on December 31. Instructions have been issued that taxi, cab, and auto drivers must have uniforms and documents.

Commercial establishments:

The Cyberabad Police warned commercial establishments that any pub or bar or club knowingly or negligently allowing their customers, associates to drive under the influence of alcohol after consuming alcohol in their premises will be dealt with strictly. Abetment cases will be filed against the management for aiding and abetting drunk driving.

Special cameras have been installed to detect dangerous violations like wrong side driving, wrong/unauthorized parking, over speed, signal jump, rash driving and riding without helmet etc. If anyone found violating these violations will be identified through these cameras and strict action will be taken against them, the press release said. 

Vehicles will be seized if documents are not produced. Cases will be filed against the vehicle owner and driver for allowing a minor to drive.

The DD cases u/s 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 will be booked against each one of the drunk drivers and all of them would be sent to court in due time. A penalty of Rs. 10,000 and/or imprisonment of up to 6 months for the first offence and a penalty of Rs. 15,000 and/or imprisonment of up to 2 years for a second or subsequent offence.
