A ten-year-old girl was stabbed to death in her own home in Sangeetnagar, Kukatpally area of Hyderabad, tv9 telugu reported.
On Monday morning, the child’s parents sent their son to school and went to work. The girl was alone at home as it was declared a holiday by her school.
At 12.30 pm on Monday, the girl's father, a bike mechanic, had gone home to pick up his son's lunch box to deliver it to his school. He found his daughter lying dead with stab wounds on her stomach in the bedroom.
He immediately informed the Kukatpally police, who reached the spot along with Balanagar DCP Suresh Kumar and inspected the scene, collected evidence with the dog squad and clues team.
The girl's body has been sent to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem. Kukatpally police registered a case and began investigation.
The scenes of a young man leaving the house were recorded on the CCTV camera, police said and that they suspect sexual assault.
Special teams have been formed to nab the suspect and police have examined several CCTV cameras near the house. Clues teams have thoroughly examined the residence where the incident took place and identified some fingerprints, reports said.
