Hyderabad: An IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Tuesday morning after receiving a bomb threat email, PTI reported.
The flight landed safely in Mumbai, police said. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) received an e-mail threat which claimed that ‘some anti-social elements are planning to carry out an attack using remote controlled explosive devices on the flight once it lands in Hyderabad’.
IndiGo flight that was supposed to land at Shamshabad Airport at 8.10 am, was diverted promptly.
After the plane landed, bomb-disposal teams and emergency responders and CISF personnel combed through the aircraft but not a single suspicious item was found. Further investigation is underway.
