Naveen Yadav takes oath as Jubilee hills MLA
Naveen Yadav secured a total of 98,988 votes in a contest with BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha.
Hyderabad: V Naveen Yadav has been sworn-in as Jubilee Hills MLA in the presence of Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Wednesday, November 26.
It comes after he won the election on November 14 with a margin of 24,729 votes. He secured a total of 98,988 votes in a contest with BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha and will formally assume the responsibilities as Jubilee Hills MLA. Congress party leaders and his supporters were present at the ceremony.
The Congress party now has 76 MLAs in Telangana Legislative Assembly and BRS has 27 MLAs. BJP has eight legislators followed by AIMIM, which has 7.
Gram Panchayat elections:
Telangana State Election Commission has released the official notification for Gram Panchayat elections. The polling will be held on December 11, 14, 17.
Elections will be held for 4,200 sarpanch posts and 37,440 ward seats. Nominations can be filed from November 26.
Election Code of Conduct is now in effect, SEC Commissioner Rani Kumudini said.
