New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified and asked all the schools to ensure that no requests for countersignature of transfer certificates (TCs) are sent to regional offices or headquarters. The CBSE Examination Controller, Sanyam Bhardwaj, has clarified on the issue.
The CBSE had earlier discontinued the practice of countersignature of the TCs from one CBSE-affiliated school to another.
“However, the CBSE Headquarters and regional offices still receive requests for countersignature of transfer certificates. Non-compliance of CBSE guidelines by schools causes huge inconvenience to stakeholders and is also a hindrance to facilitating all in this age of digitisation,” PTI quoted CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.
“Hence, all schools are once again reminded that there is no need for countersignature of any transfer certificate,” he added.
The Transfer Certificate (TC) is a mandatory document to be issued by a student's previous school after leaving. This serves as a proof that the student has pursued the education from the respective school. The TC is also necessary for admission to a new school or higher grades. The school TC contains key information such as the student's personal details, admission, class and others.
Students need to wrote a written application and must be submitted to the school principal or head. The TC will be valid only if the head of the institution sign on the same.
