Mumbai: Aishwarya Rai visited the holy shrine and 'Mahasamadhi' of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, as part of the centenary celebration. The actress, in her speech, showered Prime Minister Narendra with praises. She also reflected on the wise teachings of Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai Baba.
"I extend a heartfelt thank you to you, our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, for being with us here today and for honouring this special occasion," said the actress. She added, "I'm looking forward to listening to your wise words, impactful and inspiring as always, to enthral us today, this morning. Your presence here adds sanctity and inspiration to this centenary celebration and reminds us of Swami's message that true leadership is service and service to man is service to God."
She spoke of her time as a balvikar student and reflected on the five Ds. "Once a Balvikar student, always a Balvikar student. Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai Baba often spoke about the five Ds, five essential qualities needed for a meaningful, purposeful and spiritually anchored life," said Aishwarya.
"Devotion, true devotion, is the flow of love towards God. Determination, once you have chosen the right path, never turn back. And discrimination, as in the ability to choose between right and wrong, truth and untruth, the very heart of spiritual life. Swami once said, education should not be for a living, but it is and should be for life," said the actress.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, G Kishan Reddy, and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar were also present at the event.
