'Akshay Kumar should have been responsible': Suneel Darshan on actor's rumoured affair with Priyanka Chopra

New Delhi: Director-producer Suneel Darshan has worked with Akshay Kumar in seven movies but their relationship got sour after the actor walked out of the film, Barsaat, also starring Priyanka Chopra. The director haven’t spoken to Akshay in two decades after the “haadsa”. The primary reason for crack in their relationship was the rumoured affair between Priyanka and Akshay.

Now, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Suneel Darshan once again spoke about the rumoured affair between Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. He stated that he had to bear the burnt of the rumoured affair after it made headlines.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, director Suneel Darshan said that he filmed a song with Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar for his movie, Barsaat, before the actor walked out of the film. Referring to the affair, he said, “There was turbulence in his personal life after a point. He told me that there were some personal issues, and asked if the film could be made with only one of them. I feel all actors should be responsible, and married men should be even more responsible. But it is man’s nature to make mistakes. And it is destined for producers to bear the brunt of their mistakes. I don’t want to put the onus of responsibility for that ‘haadsa’ on Priyanka…” He further added that he was forced to cast Bobby Deol in the film.

Earlier, Suneel told Friday Talkies, “Kuch blunder aise ho chuke thay (He did some blunders). Some rumours about Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar started doing the rounds and Twinkle had left his home. As an actor you have to be responsible. If your wife has been an actress, she knows everything about the industry and she has also worked with all the big stars. She knew everything.”

He further added, “I don’t blame Priyanka Chopra for this. She was doing what was in her own interest.”

Meanwhile, Akshay and Priyanka have worked in films, including Andaaz, Aitraaz, and Waqt: The Race Against Time.
