When Shah Rukh Khan revealed Priyanka Chopra is 'very close' to his heart

New Delhi: There was a time when the most popular on-screen jodi, Priyanka Chopra and  Shah Rukh Khan's dating rumours sparked a storm in Bollywood as well as on the internet. Many online videos showed the couple together at various events, leaving Gauri Khan uncomfortable as SRK and PeeCee hosted the event together.

Several reports claimed that the duo were dating each other, or at least something was probably cooking between them. As we all know that Shah Rukh and Priyanka worked together in two movies, which are Don and Don 2, and that was the time when their dating rumours sparked. So when all of this was happening, none of the celebrities ever came up either to support the rumours or even to reject them.

But there was an incident when SRK was asked if these dating rumours were true. To this, Shah Rukh responded by saying, "To me, what is most disturbing is the fact that a lady who's worked with me has been questioned, and somewhere down the line, she's not being shown the kind of respect I show her or all the women. I think it's a little disrespectful. I'm extremely sorry about that. Sorry means... It's not directly because of anything I've done, but because she's my friend. She's one of the closest friends I have, very close to my heart, and always will be."

In the same interview, Shah Rukh also said that their dating rumours have spoiled their friendship, “She was a little who started her Miss World crowning with me, and you know we have shared some of the nicest moments on screen, off it. It is sad for me to think that a friendship gets a little soiled.”

According to some media reports, while the actors were filming Don 2, they started seeing each other, but reportedly, Gauri Khan eventually found out about it and was also in the mood to get divorced. But then she took a wise decision by stopping her husband not to work with Priyanka Chopra.
