Akshaye Khanna upcoming movies: Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna’s career appears to be entering a powerful new chapter, with the actor reportedly being showered with offers after the explosive response to his turn as Rehman Dakait aka Sher-E-Baloch in Dhurandhar.
His performance in Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller has been widely praised, and a renewed wave of enthusiasm has swept through the industry. While admirers continue to celebrate his dashing entry, fresh updates indicate that Akshaye may soon be seen leading several major projects across film and streaming platforms.
The most anticipated title in his line-up is Dhurandhar 2. A March 2026 release has already been announced by the makers, and it’s strongly believed that Akshaye will reprise his menacing avatar for the sequel. The first instalment ended on an open note, triggering massive curiosity about his character’s next chapter. Early chatter suggests that the second film, titled Revenge, will lean heavily on his comeback.

A significant development has also emerged from another blockbuster franchise. Drishyam 3, which is currently in advanced scripting stages, is expected to bring back Akshaye’s sharp and calculating IG Tarun Ahlawat. His entry in Drishyam 2 had shifted the entire dynamic of the film and the final chapter will reportedly feature him making one last attempt to corner Vijay Salgaonkar. This anticipated showdown is already being described as one of the most thrilling confrontations in the franchise’s history.

Beyond sequels, several standalone projects are said to be in active discussion. Strong rumours suggest that Akshaye is being considered for the courtroom thriller Section 84. Talks are ongoing, and the possibility of him joining an intense legal drama has excited long-time fans. Additionally, insiders claim he’s being approached for an untitled spy thriller where he may portray another high-stakes antagonist.
Perhaps the most talked-about update is reserved for his digital outing. Akshaye Khanna is set to headline Ikka, a high-octane action thriller crafted as a direct-to-OTT Netflix release. The project reunites him with his Border co-star Sunny Deol after 28 years, creating enormous anticipation around the casting. Helmed by Siddharth P. Malhotra and currently in production, the film is slated for a 2026 premiere and is being described as one of Netflix India’s biggest upcoming action titles.
