Mumbai: Dhurandhar actor Arjun Rampal confirmed his engagement to long-time partner Gabriella Demetriades during a conversation on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast. Arjun's candid announcement left both the host and his fans astonished.
Rhea shared the podcast's trailer online and congratulated the couple. "Congratulations to the coolest couple in town @gabriellademetriades @rampal72 (sic)," wrote the host. The video showed Gabriella reflecting on love and its conditions.
"Love comes with conditions. If the person behaves in a certain way, they get my approval or love. But when you have a child, you can't do that, right?" said the model. She added, "It's not like I am going after him because he is really hot, or I hope he didn't say that about me."
Meanwhile, Arjun confessed that he was initially attracted to Gabriella because she was "hot". Eventually, the attraction grew beyond the physical appeal. "I after her because she was hot. Then I realised there's a little more to it than just the hotness," said the Dhurandhar actor.
Further in the clip, Gabriella is heard saying, "We are not married now, but who knows?" It was then that Arjun broke the news of their engagement. "We are engaged," said the actor, prompting Rhea to be taken aback by the news.
Gabriella is a South African model and fashion designer.
Arjun and Gabriella have been in a relationship for a long time. The couple crossed paths in 2018 through mutual friends. After a few months of their initial meeting, they began dating. In 2019, they welcomed their first son, Arik. In 2023, the couple welcomed their second son.
Arjun was previously married to Mehr Jesia. They mutually parted ways in 2018. He shares two daughters with her, Mahikaa Rampal and Myra Rampal.
Arjun was last seen as Major Iqbal in the spy thriller Dhurandhar. The movie, creating waves at the box office, is directed by Aditya Dhar. It features stars like Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles.
