Mumbai: Music composer and singer duo Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur lashed out at Amaal Mallik after he accused them of taking credit for the song “Bekhayali” from Kabir Singh. Amaal claimed that the song was created by him. Sachet and Parampara responded to Amaal and denied his accusations.

The duo took to social media to address the issue. “Hello everyone, we are Sachet and Parampara, and we are addressing a matter that has escalated significantly. This concerns Mr Amaal Mallik. Honestly, we never anticipated having to clarify these issues, but this is something we solely created. We are referring to Bekhayali, which Amaal Mallik claims he produced some time ago," said the two.

Further, they clarified that the song was composed in front of Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and actor Shahid Kapoor. They added, "We have all the conversations with Amaal Mallik; we have all the discussions with the Kabir Singh team because the whole team was present when we crafted this song. Every melody, every composition, every arrangement, every lyric was developed with the entire team present, and it is entirely a Sachet and Parampara original work.”

The duo also addressed Amaal's remark on favouritism in the industry.

“We were never associated with T-Series; we were not part of T-Series before Kabir Singh came along. And I believe he has been with T-Series since 2015, if we are correct," said the duo online.

They continued, "We are outsiders; why would anyone favour us? Or if we have come from a small town, would someone play their song for us and expect us to make a song like that? Are you serious, Amaal Mallik? Also, let’s assume that if you want to say we stole your song, then why were you congratulating us after the release? You were the first one texting me, saying you were waiting for our song and…”

They also showcased screenshots of Amaal's messages. “I didn’t even have your number, Amaal Mallik. You called me, you texted me telling me you were waiting for our song and then congratulating me and asking about your day after ‘Bekhayali’ was released,” said Sachet.

Ending the video, the duo asked Amaal for an apology.  “We demand an apology from you, and it should be public, as you took this matter outside. You went on your social media, making these claims. This could happen to anyone.” said the two.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan in July, Amaal had accused Sachet and Parampara of using his references for creating the song.
